Emory University Chappell Park

716 Peavine Creek Road, Atlanta, GA 30322

Baseball camp is held on the main Emory University Campus at the Chappell Park Baseball Field.  For camp drop off, please follow the directions to the Peaving lot (below) and then you will see signs pointing you towards the carpool location for Chappell Park.  Origin-specific directions to the Peavine Parking lot are as follows:

From Interstate 20 East
Take exit 60-A, the Moreland Avenue exit. Turn right on Moreland and follow it approximately 3 miles. Moreland will change to Briarcliff Road once it crosses Ponce de Leon Avenue. Continue straight on Briarcliff approximately 2 miles to North Decatur Road. Turn right and follow North Decatur one mile to the Oxford Road intersection. Make a sharp left onto Oxford Road. Make a right at the first intersection, Eagle Row, to enter the campus. At the second stop sign, on the left is a visitors parking lot. Park here during regular business hours. If you are coming after business hours or on the weekend, free parking is available in the Peavine parking decks immediately adjacent to the visitors lot. To get to the Peavine decks, proceed straight ahead on Eagle Row until you reach a stop sign. Turn left at the stop sign, into the Peavine parking decks.

 


From Interstate 20 West
Take exit 60, the Moreland Avenue North exit. Turn right on Moreland and follow it approximately 3 miles. Moreland will change to Briarcliff Road once it crosses Ponce de Leon Avenue. From Interstate 75 North or South
Take exit 248-C, the Freedom Parkway exit. Cross Boulevard; continue on Freedom Parkway; veer left at split; continue until it ends at Ponce de Leon Avenue; then turn right. Off Ponce, turn left on Briarcliff Road. Go approximately 2 miles to North Decatur Road. Turn right and follow North Decatur Road one mile to the Oxford Road intersection. Make a sharp left onto Oxford Road. Make a right at the first intersection, Eagle Row, to enter the campus. At the second stop sign, on the left is a visitors parking lot. From Interstate 85 North and Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport
The airport is located in the southwest section of the city, approximately 25 minutes from the Emory University campus. Visitors driving from the airport should take I-85 North.  To Emory from Interstate 85 North, take exit 248-C, the Freedom Parkway exit. Cross Boulevard; continue on Freedom Parkway; veer left at split; continue until it ends at Ponce de Leon Avenue; then turn right. Off Ponce, turn left on Briarcliff Road. From Interstate 85 South
Take exit 91, the Clairmont Road exit. Turn left (east) on Clairmont and follow it approximately 3 miles to North Decatur Road. Turn right and follow North Decatur approximately one mile to the Emory campus. At the intersection with Oxford Road, make a wide right onto Oxford Road. Make a right at the first intersection, Eagle Row, to enter the campus. At the second stop sign, on the left is a visitors parking lot. Park here during regular business hours. If you are coming after business hours or on the weekend, free parking is available in the Peavine parking decks immediately adjacent to the visitors lot. To get to the Peavine decks, proceed straight ahead on Eagle Row until you reach a stop sign. Turn left at the stop sign, into the Peavine parking decks.

 


From Georgia 400 South
Take 400 to I-85 North. On I-85 North, take the North Druid Hills Road Exit (Exit 89) and turn right at the end of the exit ramp. Take North Druid Hills past Briarcliff Road and past LaVista Road. Turn right onto Clairmont Road. Take Clairmont Road past the Veteran's Affairs Hospital to North Decatur Road. Turn right on North Decatur. Go past Clifton Road. Turn right at the second light after Clifton at the five-way intersection onto Oxford Road. Make a right at the first intersection, Eagle Row, to enter the campus. At the second stop sign, on the left is a visitors parking lot. Park here during regular business hours. From Stone Mountain Expressway (Highway 78) West
Inside I-285, Highway 78 merges with Highway 29 becoming Scott Boulevard. Take Scott Boulevard for about a mile. Turn right off Scott Boulevard onto North Decatur Road. Go past Clairmont Road. Go past Clifton Road. Turn right at the second light after Clifton at the five-way intersection onto Oxford Road. Make a right at the first intersection, Eagle Row, to enter the campus. At the second stop sign, on the left is a visitors parking lot. Park here during regular business hours. Public Transportation - MARTA
Atlanta's mass transit system is MARTA, which operates a coordinated system of bus and train lines around much of the Atlanta area. The Emory campus is accessible from the Lindbergh MARTA station, and from the Inman Park station via the #6-Emory bus, or from the Arts Center station and the Avondale station on the #36-North Decatur bus. Also, the #245 "Blue Flyer" Kensington/Emory express bus serves Emory from the Lindbergh and Kensington stations.  Coming from the airport, take any train northbound to the Lindbergh MARTA station, and take the #6-Emory bus to the Emory campus. Taxi
A cab ride from the airport to campus will cost approximately $35 to $45 and will take approximately 25 minutes with normal traffic.  Allow at least an hour's travel time during weekday rush hours, 7 a.m. until 9 a.m., and 3:30 p.m. until 7 p.m.

 

 

Baseball Field (Chappell Park)
From the entrance of the Peavine parking decks, turn left and follow the sidewalk. Walk past the parking decks, the softball field, and two houses. At the stop sign, turn left on Peavine Creek Drive. Take the sidewalk and follow it to the baseball field.
